Red Grouper, one of Singapore's four royal fish, is caught in the Indonesian waters. The fish is popular throughout all the ages and especially more so during the chinese festival. During Chinese festivals such as Chinese New Year, local Chinese will generally cook a meal composed of Red Grouper since the color red "Hong" 红 is auspicious and provides pleasure and fortune to the entire family.
